Merry Christmas!

Whew - what a finish to the end of the year.  Finally got the chance to finish up the workshops properly.  It took ages but we did it!  So the first workshops in comics were completed successfully and the amount of great work done by the people who attended, will hopefully be up on display soon enough.

Just a reminder on the following -

Deadline for submissions for the comic are 31st December 2010

If you encounter problems due to study, just let us know by email.

You can submit a page or more, just scan it in at a minimum of 200dpi/max 300dpi and send it to tawcomics@gmail.com

If you only attended one class, you can still submit work - just send in what you have.  It can be a character sketch or a comic strip or a full story (up to 6/8 pages only though).

Either way, we are aiming to put together a small comic of the work done by everyone who attended - otherwise what would be the point of doing the workshop on comics? : )

Even the beach had snow!

Due to the restrictions on train and bus services to some areas, Mondays schedule is now moved to the following:

Monday 6th Dec - cancelled 

Monday 13th Dec - Final Day for all classes will be held from 6-8pm - Please note change in time!

The change to the times of classes is due to the unscheduled date alterations effecting our schedules.

Please bring along your scripts and drawings and we'll help you complete them!  : )
Don't worry if you don't have it finished or need help, we'll go through it in class and there is always support by email if needed.

SNOW! - Workshop cancelled for Monday 29th November

This lovely picture is supplied by Dee, as she went for a walk in the snow today.  What about it though...SNOW!...and lots of it which is pretty mental.  Coupled with lightning and thunder during a snowstorm (I kid you not) it all tots up to be a pretty cold November.  As a result of it being difficult to get into town for some of us, Mondays Class on 29th November is cancelled.
Next week, Monday 6th December, will be the last day for the afternoon workshop.  Monday 13th December will be the last day for the evening workshop.  Keep working on your scripts, and if you have questions email us!

OCTOCON & Workshop Work to come!

This coming weekend will see the OCTOCON event taking place.  Superhilbo! (created by Hilary Lawler) will be guesting at it, along with a wide range of Sci-Fi and Fantasy contributors in both the creative writing and artistic field.  http://www.octocon.com

We completed our first week of Workshops successfully and will be posting up some of the great contributions made by the budding artists who turned up.  Great start to it, so really big thank you for those that turned up! : )  Keep checking the blog for work each week as we'll be posting up stuff so you can get an idea on how the work progresses.

Workshops - Monday 3-5pm and 7-9pm & COMIC 24HR CHALLENGE

The TAW Comic Workshop begins on the 11th Oct, with students offered the 3-5pm slot and open to everyone workshop from 7-9pm.  We hope to see you there!

In the meantime, an important Comic Event takes place this coming weekend - 24Hr Comic Challenge!
This is the 5th year of the 24hr Comic Challenge, with the aim being to draw 24pages of a comic in 24hrs.  A very sleep deprived challenge for the most part and worth going along to!
VENUE - Central Hotel, Saturday 9th - Sunday 10th October with a 12pm start.

Comics Workshops!

We're really happy to announce that the NEW Comics Workshop will begin in Trinity Arts Workshop today, Monday 4th October, at 3-5pm for students only.  Sign up for all workshop related stuff is between 7-9pm.

Open to everyone workshops begin on Monday 11th Oct from 7-9pm, with the student workshop also running on Mondays from 3-5pm.
