Irish Comic News website

 IRISH COMIC NEWS!
Just a heads up that a new website launched recently which documents all the news in the Irish comic scene.  It's run by Tommie Kelly and a number of contributors put in their pennies worth - Paddy Brown, Gar Shanley, David O'Leary and myself.
Well worth keeping an eye on as it'll give you events details as well as exclusive interviews with various artists in the comic industry.  www.irishcomicnews.com

DROP BY AND SAY HELLO! : )

After a lovely long and creative academic year, TAW are now showing the work of those that attended some of the workshops between 2010-2011.  It will feature some creative input from all of the areas covered in the TAW, and some of our comic strips will feature at it too!
If you are about on Friday 27th May, drop into the Trinity Arts Workshop and take a look.
We had hoped to have the comic out for this event but alas it didn't happen.  However, the comic is coming together and we'll be aiming to have it available in the Science Gallery
(fingers crossed they'll be kind and give us some counter space! : ) )

Long time since posting, and simply put myself and Dee got busy.  In the meantime however, some of the lovely people that attended the workshop forwarded on comics that they'd done.

Over the next couple of weeks we expect to finalize the comic and will post up a launch time for it and email all involved.  It'll be a bit of fun to say the least.  Unfortunately the next batch of comic workshops didn't get underway...but we hope to push them for the future and get it into a more regular format.

New Year and New TAW Workshop

Happy New Year to everyone!

The 2010 workshop was great and thanks to all who got involved.  The submissions for the TAW Comic will still be accepted, if you think you'd like to put forward some of the work you did over the last workshop.  For those who already submitted, thank you and we hope to have the comic together by early February. : )

2011 Trinity Arts Festival - the dates are up on the main site but we'll confirm the details and post them here too.  We'll be doing 2 workshops for the Festival to give people an idea on what to expect.  It should be fun!

2011 Workshops - We'll be starting back with the workshops in February, the dates are TBC but we'll make sure they're posted on blogs and websites as soon as we know.

Merry Christmas!

Whew - what a finish to the end of the year.  Finally got the chance to finish up the workshops properly.  It took ages but we did it!  So the first workshops in comics were completed successfully and the amount of great work done by the people who attended, will hopefully be up on display soon enough.
Just a reminder on the following -
Deadline for submissions for the comic are 31st December 2010
If you encounter problems due to study, just let us know by email.
You can submit a page or more, just scan it in at a minimum of 200dpi/max 300dpi and send it to tawcomics@gmail.com
If you only attended one class, you can still submit work - just send in what you have.  It can be a character sketch or a comic strip or a full story (up to 6/8 pages only though).
Either way, we are aiming to put together a small comic of the work done by everyone who attended - otherwise what would be the point of doing the workshop on comics? : )
Enjoy your Christmas and have a great New Year.  Further updates on workshops for 2011 will be posted soon.  : )
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THIS YEAR!!
